HiPP goes beyond organic.

Because we want our children and grandchildren to inherit a world worth living in and worth loving.

Why we go #beyondorganic

Animal welfare is very important to us

Kept outdoors in fresh air almost all year round

HiPP’s organic cattle are kept in forests and on pastures for most of the year. This is the most species-appropriate method. It keeps the animals strong, resilient and healthy. Suckler cow husbandry is of particular importance: The calves of our organic grass-fed cattle are usually born out on the pastures. At the Ehrensberger Hof, HiPP’s organic model farm, they then remain with their mothers for 8 months and are allowed to drink their milk.

Why we go #beyondorganic

More than 60 years of organic farming

Healthy, untreated soils are the basis for excellent quality.

HiPP provides its vegetable farmers with advice on all steps of the production process – from the selection of the right fields and suitable seeds, all the way through to plant growth and harvesting. In order to prevent diseases and pests, our organic farmers adhere to a well-balanced crop rotation. This also ensures that our soils are not drained of nutrients. Using HiPP organic carrot cultivation as an example, find out in what ways we go beyond organic.

More organic farming

... because organic farming also promotes biodiversity.

For us, going beyond organic means doing more than the EU Organic Logo requires.

+ more than 60 years of experience in organic farming

+ animal welfare friendly farms that follow our strict HiPP guidelines

+ research to preserve species and promote biodiversity

+ stricter limit values than required by law

+ more than 260 checks per jar

+ climate-positive production of our jars

= Our HiPP Organic Seal

"Stricter the EU-organic: the HiPP organic seal stands for excellent quality.

I guarantee this personally."

Being climate-neutral is good.

Being climate-positive is better.

What does “climate-positive” mean?

We calculate the climate footprint of our climate-positive products across the entire value chain (from the field all the way to the central warehouses of our retailers). We reduce as many greenhouse gas emissions as possible. What remains is more than just offset at HiPP: For example, we emit an average of 319 g of carbon per baby food jar but offset 350 g of carbon.

By 2025, we will have determined and reduced the climate footprint of all HiPP products and all areas of the company as much as possible. Any remaining emissions will be offset through climate protection projects. Find out more

... only the best organic ingredients go into our jars – for the good of your baby. And our jars are climate-positive too.

Sustainable packaging

Our HiPP jars are already highly recyclable (i.e. >90%).*

Our mission: By 2025, all HiPP packaging should be as recyclable as our jars.

The three pillars of our mission:

  1. less packaging material
  2. maximum recyclability
  3. more recycled packaging materials

Packaging of our HiPP formulae

What’s not there does not have to be disposed of! We have been working for many years on reducing packaging material, making our packaging as light as possible.

Maximum recyclability

For used packaging to be turned into something new, the recyclability of the packaging must be as high as possible. This is also closely linked to the way these packaging materials are disposed of.

HiPP is converting all plastic packaging to recyclable materials by 2025.

The recyclability rate indicates the percentage of a packaging material that can be reused following recycling.

More recycled packaging materials

We want to scale up our use of recycled materials to save resources – i.e. glass, paper and plastic. Our next step: using recycled plastic. To protect your little ones, HiPP attaches great importance to the safety of the materials used in all its packaging. For example, recycled plastics may be used in our packaging only if we can be sure that they do not contain anything harmful.

*rated by cyclos-HTP. The cyclos-HTP Institute is a company that classifies, assesses and tests the recyclability of packaging materials and other goods.
